About Us

The vision of Our Shepherd Preschool is to provide children and their families the opportunity to pray, learn and grow together in God’s love. We strive to prepare children to excel in their future education. Our goal is not only to provide a strong academic foundation, but also to offer a firm Christian perspective for life. Scripture says that “Children are a gift from the Lord.” (Psalm 127:3) We regard children as God’s creations and believe that from childhood, He wants all to learn of Him as their Creator, Savior and Friend. We pledge to provide a Christ-centered and state licensed environment where children have opportunities through daily experiences, to grow spiritually, academically, socially, emotionally and physically in God’s love.

A Day at Our Shepherd Preschool

Your child's experiences will be many and varied based on curriculum themes. Children will daily participate in Jesus time and weekly in chapel. Daily classroom activities include songs, stories, devotions, prayers, free choice play time, snack, teacher directed small group or individual activities, art projects, outside play time, and music and movement. The students also have the opportunity to visit our school library and gym as well as play on our private preschool playground. Full day students also enjoy lunch, rest/nap time, and additional choice and outside time along with end of the day free play and clean up. All activities serve to enhance the lesson of the day and weekly curriculum themes.

We host special events for families such as a fall festival, mom’s day and dad’s day events.  Families are also encouraged to join us for field trips, community service projects, and singing in church during lent and advent. We also have special events in the classroom such as mystery bag, Thanksgiving feast, Jesus’ birthday,  Palm Sunday Parade, Easter celebration, and a year-end celebration. 4s and Jr. Kindergarten participate in jump day and additional special events with our kindergarten program.
